The Bronco softball team and coaching staff will start out the new year by hosting a pair of clinics - a skills clinic for ages 8 to 18 as well as a Coaches Clinic for local youth softball coaches.
The beginners clinic, which will take place in the morning (9 a.m.- 12 p.m.) on Sunday, Jan. 27, will include players ages 8 to 13. The advanced clinic, which will be held in the afternoon (1 p.m.- 4 p.m.) on Saturday Jan. 27th, will include athletes ages 14 to 18 with at least three years of travel ball experience.
Softball players at both clinics will learn and develop softball skills in a fun environment. All campers will have the opportunity to play and learn the position of their choice, and will receive quality instruction from Santa Clara players and staff members. Campers can expect defensive position development in either infield, outfield, pitching or catching, advanced skill development, including throwing, fielding, hitting and baserunning, and specialized hitting and running drills. Camps will also involve competitive skill games.
In addition, the Santa Clara Coaching Staff will be conducting a coaches clinic covering all aspects of the game and show the beginning to advanced coach how to better instruct players in the game of fastpitch softball. Players from the Santa Clara Softball Team will be on hand to demonstrate all of the drills covered.
The cost for each of the clinics is $50 per session.
