LOS ANGELES - Santa Clara University softball pitcher Jaime Forman-Lau earned her sixth league honor of the season as this week's selection as the Pacific Coast Softball Conference's co-Pitcher of the Week. She shares this week's honor with Portland State's Morgan Siebert.
Forman-Lau, a junior from San Jose, has now received this honor six times in the 13-week history of the award.
She went 3-1 last week, throwing four complete games with a 1.31 ERA. She pitched 32 innings on the week, striking out 28, including a 10K performance in a 1-0, 10-inning win on Saturday over Sacramento State. She is 8-1 in conference play.
The PCSC is in its inaugural season, and made Forman-Lau the first to earn pitcher of the week honors in league history with her Feb. 5 selection. She repeated the recognition on Feb. 12, March 18, April 8 and April 22. The conference is comprised of six schools: Sacramento State, Loyola Marymount, Portland State, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara, and San Diego. Prior to joining the PCSC, Santa Clara was a member of the Western Athletic Conference.
The Broncos are 29-22 overall and 11-3 in league action, good for first place. They will continue PCSC play with two doubleheaders at Portland State this weekend. Games will be played on Saturday and Sunday at Erv Lind Stadium with first pitches at noon on each day.
