March 10, 2002

PLEASANTON, Calif. - The Santa Clara University softball team was unable to close out action at the National Invitational Softball Tournament on Sunday afternoon, after play was canceled due to inclement weather causing unplayable field conditions.

The Broncos were to play Syracuse at 10 a.m. at the Pleasanton Sports Complex in continuing action in the consolation bracket. Santa Clara, 10-17 on the season, will now return to Marsalli Park to begin a four-game home stand, starting with a rematch against UNC-Greensboro on Wednesday. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated to begin at 5 p.m.
