Women's Soccer Wraps Up Regular Season At Gonzaga

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's soccer team will finish out their regular season table with an afternoon contest this Saturday, Nov. 7 against Gonzaga in Spokane, Wash. The Broncos, at 12-6-1 and ranked No.14 in the NCAA Ratings Percentage Index, stand a good chance of earning an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament during Monday's selection show. It would be the 20th time in 21 years Santa Clara earned a trip to the postseason if it is chosen. The Bronco offense is averaging 1.32 goals per game (25 total goals), while the defense has earned eight shutouts. Redshirt senior Jordan Angeli (Lakewood, Colo.) is leading the team in goals with six, while six others have found the net at least twice and three others have registered one goal each. Angeli also leads the team in points (15), followed by senior Kiki Bosio (Mission Viejo, Calif.) with 11, and junior Maxine Goynes (Modesto, Calif.) with nine. Sophomore goalkeeper Bianca Henninger (Los Gatos, Calif.), in 14 starts, has five clean sheets to her name and carries a goals-against-average of 0.88. Reserve senior goalkeeper Lisa Lahman (Santa Cruz, Calif.) has earned three shutouts in five starts and holds a GAA of 0.82 in seven total games. LAST WEEK'S WRAP UP
SCOUTING GONZAGA The Bulldogs are currently on a two-game losing streak, having fallen to San Diego and UC Irvine last weekend, and have lost eight of their last ten games dating back to Sept. 27. The Zags have two wins in WCC play, beating both San Francisco 3-1 and Saint Mary's 2-1 in Spokane. Sarah Rhodes and Jessie Sorenson each have four goals to lead the offense and in the net, Amy Danielson and Jessie Thalman have split time. Danielson has 17 goals against (1.72 GAA) and Thalman 16 (1.97 GAA). Thalman has the only shutout credited to the goalkeepers. Santa Clara is 13-1-2 all-time versus Gonzaga.
