Head coach Jerry Smith, on the game: "We played a different formation today that we only introduced to our team yesterday. When we started the game we were like deer in the headlights, but once we settled down it became an even game."

Smith, on Courtney Lewis returning to the field: "I thought that Courtney Lewis was a bright spot, she only just got cleared to play and she got to play in her first minutes today. I think she made a big difference, and it is not a coincidence that we started becoming a better team once she got on the field for us."

Smith, on traveling to California on Sunday: "The next few days will be light practices for us. We want to make sure everyone can recuperate. We will focus on the Cal team and their stats, and see what formation we will want to play and figure out our game plan going into Sunday."
