SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's golf team landed a big recruit Thursday afternoon when head coach Polly Schulze announced that Samantha Trask signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf on the Mission Campus next fall.

Trask, who is currently a senior at Napa High School in Napa, Calif., is the current Northern California Golf Association's Junior Champion, winning the the NCGA Tournament this past summer with back-to-back 74's.

She is also the reigning CIF State Champion after firing a 74 during her junior year at Napa High School to win the title. Additionally, she is currently ranked 59th nationally by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard.

"Samantha is such a grinder on the golf course," said Schulze. "Her competitive nature and tournament success will give this program the edge that it needs to improve. I feel that we are adding one of the keys to moving on to post season."

The Broncos finished up their fall season with a fifth place finish at the Cal Poly Invitational. They will return to play on February 18-19 at the Bay Area Classic hosted by California.
