Broncos in Second at Cal Poly Invitational

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's golf team is currently in second place at the Cal Poly Invitational, hosted by the Mustangs at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande. Sophomore Samantha Trask is near the lead after carding a 73.

Santa Clara carded a 313 in the today's round, 25 strokes over par.

"We are definitely going to fight out a possible tournament win," head coach Polly Schulze explained. "It's the closest we've been this fall and we're excited to go out tomorrow and finish strong."

Trask was followed by Corey Utsurogi, who posted a 77. Candice Palmer (81), Courtney Dimpel-Composti (82) and Jenny Nelson (86) round out the Broncos' scorecards.

Santa Clara will close out the fall season with Tuesday's final round.
