AVILA BEACH, Calif. - The Santa Clara University women's golf team fired a 339 on day one at the Cal Poly Invitational that is being played at the Avila Beach Resort Golf Course in Avila Beach, Calif.

The Broncos sit alone fifth place, just four shots out of third place after day one. Courtney Dimpel-Composti and Jessica Lamberty led the way for Santa Clara, each firing rounds of 81 to sit in a tie for ninth place, just four shots out of second place.

Anne Bowden followed her teammates closely, shooting an 83, and sitting in a tie for 15th place. Jennifer Taylor and Caitlyn McNary rounded out the Broncos scoring with rounds of 94 and 106, respectively.

The second and final round of the two-day tournament will begin at 7 a.m. on the Avila Beach Resort Golf Course.
