KUNA, Idaho - The Santa Clara University women's golf team sits in 15th place after day one of the Bronco Fall Classic hosted by Boise State University at the Falcon Crest Golf Club in Kuna, Idaho.

The Broncos, who are playing in only their second tournament of the year, finished day one with a team score of 333, just seven shots behind fellow West Coast Conference competitor Gonzaga, who are in 13th place.

Freshman Meggie Fagundes was the Broncos' top finisher on the day, firing an opening round of 8-over par, 80, placing her in a tie for 40th place overall. Sophomore Coutney Dimpel-Composti trailed closely behind with her 83, which places her in a tie for 58th.

Freshmen Nikki Mack, Candice Palmer and Deanna Slaman rounded out the rest of the Bronco finishers, ending day one with scores of 84, 86 and 87, respectively. Mack is in a tie for 65th, while Palmer is tied for 72 and Slaman is in a tie for 75th.

The Broncos will play the second and final round of the tournament Tuesday morning at the 6,044 yard, par-72 course.
