Women's Golf Moves Up One Spot on Last Day of Lady Otter Invitational

SEASIDE, Calif. - Santa Clara University's women's golf team began its 2001-2002 season off on a good note, finishing second out of six teams at the season-opening Lady Otter Invitational hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay at the Black Horse Golf Course in Seaside, Calif. Santa Clara finished second behind the University of British Columbia who had three of the top nine individual finishers. The Broncos took over second place from the host, CSU Monterey Bay, by shooting a 338 as a team on Tuesday, 11 shots better than the Otters. Jessica Lamberty shot the third best round of the day on Tuesday for Santa Clara, firing an eight-over par, 81. Lamberty finished sixth overall on the tournament, just seven strokes off the lead. Santa Clara's top finisher for the tournament was Anne Bowden, who shot rounds of 81 and 84 to finish in fourth place, just five shots out of the lead. The Broncos will not return to action until the 22nd and 23rd of October when they head to Boise, Idaho to compete in the Bronco Fall Classic.
