EUGENE, Ore. - The Santa Clara University women's golf team is alone in sixth place following its first two rounds at the Oregon Duck Invitational Monday at the Eugene Country Club. The Broncos fired team rounds of 320 and 333 and currently trail Long Beach State by 11 strokes for fifth place.

The host, University of Oregon, leads the tournament by four strokes over Washington State. The Ducks posted team scores of 315 and 298 on day one compared to the 308 and 309 put up by the Cougars.

Kim Welch of Washington State and Elizabeth Allen of Cal State Northridge lead the individual portion of the tournament following their first day total of 3-over par, 147.

SCU's Meggie Fagundes sits alone in sixth place following her rounds of 75 and 78. Samantha Trask and Courtney Dimpel-Composti each concluded the first day with their 20-over par scores of 164. Candice Palmer carded rounds of 83 and 89 while Paige Wilson rounded out the Bronco scoring with her 98 and 89 on day one.

Following Tuesday's third and final round at the Duck Invitational, the Broncos will return to action on March 22-23 at the SCU Colby Invitational. That tournament will be hosted by Santa Clara at the Rancho Caņada Golf Club in Carmel, Calif.
