VALLEJO, Calif. - Santa Clara's women's golf team placed 12th at the Bay Area Classic at Hiddenbrooke Golf Course in Vallejo, this afternoon. The University of Washington, led by individual medalist Kelli Kamimura, won the team championship.

Co-host California placed second, 16 strokes behind the Huskies' 602 score. San Diego State placed third and co-host San Francisco placed fourth. Santa Clara finished at 393-436--829.

Sophomore Jessica Abbot led Santa Clara, carding an 83-91--174 good for a share of 49th place.

The Broncos will take the next month and will return to action March 26-27, hosting the Colby Classic at the Rancho Canada Golf Course in San Jose.
