ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. – Junior Kristin Le shot a 3-under 69 in Sunday's final round to claim her second career individual title and Santa Clara women's golf won its second straight tournament, edging host Cal Poly by four shots at the Lady Mustang Invitational, completed today at the 6,011-yard, par-72 Cypress Ridge Golf Course.

Le pulled away from the field by shooting the two best rounds of the event, finishing six shots better than teammate Annie Freman and Cal Poly's Jamie Harada. Le followed up her career-low 68 in yesterday's first round with a 69 today to finish at 7-under 137. She led the 53-player field with 10 birdies and was deadly on the par-4 holes shooting a tournament-best 6-under. Her 36-hole total was just one stroke off the school record set by Freman at last spring's Fresno State Classic.

Freman, who claimed individual medalist honors during the Broncos last event, earned her second straight runner-up finish at this tournament and her 16th career top-five placement by carding a 1-under 143.

The Broncos entered the final round tied with Cal Poly but scored a 292 to finish four-shots better than the Mustangs, winning on the Central Coast for the second time in three seasons. It was also the Broncos 11th team title under head coach Krystal Kelly.

Freshman Chloe Wong matched her career-low with a second round 3-over 75 and earned her best finish as a Bronco by tying for 12th at 8-over 152.

Kyleigh Moreno carded a final round 3-over 75 and tied with teammate Isabella Salant for 24th at 13-over 157.

Competing as individuals, three Broncos – Cynthia Navis, Isabella Seeburger and Keilyn Ing – all shot a final round 84. Navis tied for 38th with a 163 total, Seeburger tied for 41st at 164 and Ing took 44th with a 165.

Santa Clara concludes its fall season by hosting the annual Colby Invitational next week at the Silver Creek Country Club.
