COPPERPOLIS, Calif. - Santa Clara University women's golf sophomore Samantha Trask earned All-West Coast Conference honors with a top-10 finish at the WCC Championship, leading the Broncos as a team to a third-place finish this afternoon at Saddle Creek Golf Club in Copperopolis, a par-72 layout playing 5,823 yards.
Santa Clara carded a three-round 977 (328-318-331) to claim third place in its final event of the regular season, seven strokes ahead of Portland. Pepperdine won its fourth straight league title and swept the top five spots individually, as Carolina Llano took home individual medalist honors with a three-over-par 219. San Francisco placed second (922) and Gonzaga (1000) placed fifth.
Trask led the Broncos with a 78-77-83--238 for 10th place. Candice Palmer (83-80-83--238) also earned a top-15 finish, placing 14th. Eriko Sato tied for 17th with an 86-78-85--244. Corey Utsurogi finished in 19th with an 82-90-82--254 and Stephanie Cope rounded out the Bronco scorecard with an 85-83-92--260 for 24th place.
