Nov. 26, 2004
HONOLULU - The Santa Clara University women's basketball team netted its first win of the season, topping host Hawaii 75-68 at the 26th-annual Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Wahine Classic. Sophomore guard Ashley Graham led the Broncos (1-1) with 18 points, and senior guard Quinn Thomas followed closely behind with 16.
The two scored seven of the Broncos' 13 three-pointers in the contest, as Santa Clara tied a program record for a game, achieved on two other occasions, including last season against Pepperdine in the West Coast Conference Championship.
No. 14 Michigan State edged Utah 56-54 and will face the Broncos on Saturday at 5:20 p.m. Pacific Time. That contest can be followed online via the Spartans' Internet audio broadcast.
