Men's Water Polo Earns No. 2 Seed in Upcoming WWPA Championships

The Santa Clara men's water polo team received the highest seeding in school history today, earning the No. 2 seed in the upcoming WWPA Championships hosted by Air Force Academy. The Broncos went 16-11 on the season and 11-4 against the WWPA. The team will meet Pomona-Pitzer in the first round, Friday, Nov. 16 at 5:00 p.m. (MT). The Broncos defeated Pomona-Pitzer earlier this season 10-6 at the Convergence Classic. Pomona is fresh off a championship is the SCIAC tournament this past weekend. UC Davis took home the top seed and accounted for three of Santa Clara's four losses in WWPA action. Following UC Davis will be No. 2 Santa Clara, No. 3 Loyola Marymount, No. 4 UC San Diego, No. 5 Air Force, No. 6 Redlands, No. 7 Pomona-Pitzer, No. 8 UC Santa Cruz and No. 9 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Action will begin on Friday, Nov. 16 and go through Sunday, Nov. 18 at the Cadet Natatorium on the campus of the Air Force Academy outside of Colorado Springs.
