SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The No. 13 Santa Clara men's water polo team will travel to UC Santa Cruz to compete in the 2008 Slugfest Tournament. The Broncos will begin conference play at the two day tournament.

On Saturday, Sept. 27 they will take on Cal Lutheran at 9:50 a.m., followed by Occidental at 5:10 p.m. The following day they will take on No. 16 University of Redlands at 9:20 a.m. They will close out the weekend at 4:20 p.m. when they will face No. 15 UC Davis.

"We are feeling good going into this weekend," head coach Keith Wilbur said. "We begin conference play, so our results will affect our seating at the end of the year conference tournament."

Entering this week, Santa Clara moved up two spots in the national rankings to No. 13. They enter this weekend with a, 5-4, overall record, and have played seven teams that were in nationally ranking at the time of play.
