Men's Water Polo Receives No. 3 Seed For WWPA Championship
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The seedings and match-ups are all set for the 2013 Western Water Polo Association Men's Water Polo Championships held at Schaal Aquatics Center on the campus of UC Davis in Davis, Calif. This year's championship begins on Friday, Nov. 22 and will run through Sunday, Nov. 24 with the title game taking place at 2 p.m.
UC Davis finished the conference season unbeaten and has earned the No. 1 seed. They, along with No. 2 seed UC San Diego have earned byes to the semifinals on Saturday.
The tournament will begin Friday with No. 4 seed LMU taking on No. 5 seed and defending champion Air Force at12:15. Following at 2 pm will be No. 3 seed Santa Clara taking on No. 6 seed California Baptist.
The semifinals will begin on Saturday at 12:15. UC Davis will take on the lowest seed advancing from Friday's first round in the first semifinal. The second semifinal will have UC San Diego taking on the highest remaining seed from the first round. That game is set for 2 pm.
The final day will feature the fifth place game at 10:30 am, followed by the third place game at 12:15 pm and the championship at 2 pm. The winner will earn the WWPA's automatic bid to the 2013 National Collegiate Men's Water Polo Championship.
