Santa Clara Wraps Up Nor Cal Tournament

STOCKTON, Calif. - Santa Clara split its last two games on the final day of the Nor Cal Tournament. The split put Santa Clara in 10th place for the weekend tournament.

In game one against West Valley Community College the Broncos were victorious by a score of 12-9. Patrick Weiss and James Case had three goals apiece and Marcus Akerland, Theo Nasser, Jimmy Moore, Kyle Surber, Matt Kochalko and Mark Davis each added a goal. Senior Michael Wishart had another outstanding game by recording 14 saves.

The second and final game of the weekend for Santa Clara was against UC Davis. James Case scored two goals to lead the Bronco offense but it wasn't enough to top the No. 11 Aggies. The Broncos ultimately fell by a score of 10-7. Wishart recorded six saves for the game.

The Broncos will play in the Davis Shootout on the campus of UC Davis next weekend with two games on Sat., Sept. 24 and two more on Sun., Sept. 25. They will play the host Aggies, Occidental and La Verne.
