No. 15 Broncos to Host No. 8 UC San Diego, Alumni Game

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The No. 15 Santa Clara men's water polo team looks to bounce back into the win column this weekend versus No. 8 UC San Diego. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at the Sullivan Aquatic Center. The Broncos fell a place in the national rankings and post a 14-10 overall, 8-3 WWPA record, for fourth in the WWPA conference standings. Redshirt senior Josh Early earned WWPA Top Performer honors for the week of Nov. 3.
On Sunday, Nov. 9, Santa Clara will host a dedication ceremony in honor of the new Sullivan Aquatic Center. The ceremony is set to take place prior to the Broncos' annual Alumni Game at 1 p.m.
Last Week for the Broncos
The Broncos had another tough weekend in the pool, as they fell to then No. 5 Loyola Marymount and to then No. 2 Stanford. The Broncos dropped their match, 14-8, to LMU on Friday, Oct. 31, in Davis, Calif. Redshirt junior Jack Wall notched three goals and goalie Michael Wishart posted six blocks. SCU returned home to host the Cardinal of Stanford on Sunday, Nov. 2. Junior Liam Farrell scored three of the Broncos' seven goals in the 19-7 loss. Wishart tallied nine saves and redshirt senior Chris Parolin scored a goal, and notched a pair of assists and steals. Redshirt senior Josh Early had a strong weekend, scoring two goals, tallying three assists, posting two steals and drawing one kick out.
Sullivan Aquatic Center Dedication
On Sunday, Nov. 9, the Broncos will host the Sullivan Aquatic Center dedication ceremony, prior to the annual Alumni Game. Santa Clara President, Father Paul Locatelli will be in attendance as the Broncos thank donor Jack Sullivan `59.

This season redshirt senior Josh Early and sophomore Stephen Hobbs will be sharing duties writing the men's water polo team blog. The duo will give fans an insider's view of the team and how the season has progressed.
Early Named WWPA Top Performer
Redshirt senior Josh Early was named a WWPA Top Performer for the week of Nov. 3. Early had a strong weekend for SCU versus then No. 5 LMU and then No. 2 Stanford. He scored two goals, tallied three assists, posted two steals and drew one kick out.
Scouting No. 8 UCSD
The No. 8 UC San Diego Tritons travel to Northern California after going 2-0 this past weekend versus Pomona-Pritzer and UC Santa Cruz, who are in 12th and 14th places, respectively, in the WWPA conference. They defeated their respective opponents by 32-14 margin.
This season the Tritons post a 16-8 overall, 4-3 WWPA record and are second place in the WWPA. Leading UCSD this season is senior A.J. Kotanjian who has 55 goals in 29 games. In the net, the Tritons freshman goalie David Morton has tallied 216 saves this season. UCSD is led by veteran head coach Denny Harper, who is in his 29th season at the helm of the Triton program.
