Tommy Hendrickson Named WWPA Player of the Week

Tommy Hendrickson, a junior driver for the Santa Clara men's water polo team, was named the WWPA Player of the Week for September 26, 2007. He scored 19 goals to lead the Broncos to a 5-0 record this past week, and an 8-6 record overall. To his 19 goals he also added eight steals, five assists, and a kickout drawn. In the September 23rd game against Claremont he scored seven goals with five steals and an assist.

"We really needed guys to step up and play a bigger role on this team and I think he did that this past weekend," said head coach Keith Wilbur. "He's been making his outside shots and he's really been looking for his shots when they're there. He's hitting them and he's shooting with confidence."

The men's water polo team is just on the outside of the national rankings, receiving votes for the third week in a row after dropping from 17th in the preseason rankings. Saturday, September 29th they go up against conference leader, #9 UC Davis who the Broncos lost a hard fought battle to earlier in the season.
