BERKELEY, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's tennis team slowly continued action today at the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northwest Regional Championship, hosted by the University of California at both the Hellmen Tennis Center and the Channing Courts in Berkeley.

Rainy weather cancelled all morning matches, and the afternoon contests were delayed until 2 p.m. Main draw matches in singles and doubles were moved to the San Francisco Tennis Club.

Jan Macek and Francisco Zepponi fell in the main draw singles Round of 32 today. In the doubles Round of 32, Bobby Rasmussen and Macek earned a victory over Saint Mary's. The Bronco duo will return to the courts at 9 a.m. against the No. 2 seed Connor Niland and Patrick Briaud from host Cal.

Consolation singles and doubles matches that were to be played today will continue on Sunday.

The singles finalists and doubles champion from this event will earn sports in the November 4-7 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championship at the University of Michigan. There are 17 regional championship taking place over these last two weekends of October at campuses throughout the country.
