Men's Tennis Drops Match to Sonoma State

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's tennis team fell to Sonoma State, 6-1. The Broncos Kenzo Hirakawa-Wong and Jay Wong began the day winning at No. 1 doubles position over Brett McNulty and Andy Muesse, 8-4; however Santa Clara could not win the doubles point with losses at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Wong, a double winner of the day, won his singles match at the No. 1 position over the Seawolves Andy Muesse. Wong won the first set, 6-3, but Muesse came back in the second set to win it, 6-3. After splitting the first two sets, Wong breezed by Muesse to win the third set, 6-1. The Broncos conclude their regular season on Monday April 14, when they host Texas-Pan American at 5:00 p.m. at the Degheri Tennis Center. Santa Clara will also celebrate Senior Day and honor student assistant Kevin McQuaid. Doubles Singles
