Men's Tennis Falls to No. 11 California, 4-3

BERKELEY, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's tennis fell to 11th-ranked California 4-3 in a close match in Berkeley. The Broncos are now 2-1 on the year, while the Bears improve to 2-0.

The doubles point turned out to be the difference in the game, as all three matches went to 8-6 scores, but only on court three were the Broncos able to pull out a victory.

In singles, sophomore Michael Duong upset No. 50 Balazs Veress in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5. Senior Victor Camargo and freshman Francisco Zepponi also recorded singles victories.

The Broncos return to action on Wednesday, February 13 when they visit San Francisco for a 2 p.m. match.
