Jesse Ross Sets Conference and NCAA Goals

Written By: Cali Reis '14

As Jesse Ross begins his freshman season at Santa Clara, he looks to help lead his team to a conference title as well as a strong run into the NCAA tournament. Ross caught up with Santa Clara Broncos (SCB) to talk about his thoughts on his first season as a Bronco.

SCB: After having defeats to No. 5 UC Davis and No. 4 USC, how are you looking to move forward?

JR: Since this is my first quarter, I am not concerned about these early loses. I am going through an adjustment period that I know I will overcome shortly and I am just looking to improve everyday.

SCB: What do you enjoy most about your doubles partner Mikheil Khmiadashvili?

JR: I enjoy my doubles partner mostly because we have similar personalities and share the same sense of humor. This creates the type of chemistry needed for successful doubles.

SCB: Having chosen Santa Clara, what do you hope to get out of your experience here?

JR: I hope to attain an excellent education and become a world class tennis player.

SCB: What are some of the things you are most looking forward to this spring season?

JR: This spring season I am looking forward to helping the team win the conference tournament as well as doing well in the NCAA tournament
