Fall Quarter Concludes, Season Just Around Corner...
As final examinations concluded, the Broncos packed their bags with much relief as the fall quarter concluded and the much-anticipated winter break began. A four week holiday commenced, free of homework and studying, yet still consisting of continued practice, competition and preparation for the upcoming season.

The 2007 schedule begins in San Diego on January 13-14 as the Broncos will face San Diego State and Arizona State in a flighted round-robin event also known as a 'hidden dual'. Santa Clara then returns to campus to host their traditional doubleheader opener against UC Santa Cruz and UC Davis. This will be the first 2 of 16 home matches on the season highlighted by nationally-ranked programs such as Boise State, Hawaii, Oregon, UC Santa Barbara, BYU, Montana State and Harvard. A sampling of the Broncos' road constests include match-ups against Pac-10 teams Cal, Stanford, Arizona State and Arizona, defending national champion and conference foe Pepperdine and the WCC Championships at the University of San Diego. All in all, the Broncos will compete in 28 dual matches with their sights set on a national team ranking, earning a spot in the conference final and advancing to the NCAA regional championships in May. We invite you to join us for an exciting season at home with the Hecklers on the Hill (our official fan club) or travel with the Broncos on the road to San Diego, Arizona or San Luis Obispo. Other special events include Bronco Tennis Alumni Day (March 31 vs. Harvard) and the Bronco Pro-Am Invitational. Should you be interested in assisting with the planning of these events, please contact the men's tennis office. We'd love your passionate support as extra helping hands go a long way. Until next time, Happy Holidays to all and best wishes for the New Year. Go Broncos!

Broncos At Pebble Beach...
The Broncos made their third consecutive trip to the Spanish Bay Tennis Club at Pebble Beach and participated in a pro-am event hosted by former Bronco and current Director of Tennis, Marc Moran (1990). The competition consisted of round-robin pool play, a semifinal round and championship match. Kenzo Hirakawa-Wong partnered with Clancy D'Angelo and defeated Brian Brogan and Alan Rosenthal in the pro-am final. Funds generated from the event were graciously donated to the Broncos. Many thanks to Marc, the Pebble Beach Company and the Spanish By club members for their support of SCU men's tennis.

Pump It Up Broncos...
The Broncos have hooked up again with strength coaches Brien Shamp and Mike Salemi for another season of conditioning and weight training. Brien and Mike joined the coaching staff last season and introduced new elements relating to flexibility, power, speed, agility and a healthy diet.

This season's focus has been to surpass last year's accomplishments, as well as blend in creative workouts such as sled pulls, SUV pushes and running stairs with sandbags. The Broncos have also visited Brien's workout facility in San Carlos, the Optimal Fitness Center. OFC offers state-of-the-art technology and equipment and proven programs for weight management, rehabilitation, stress reduction and athletic performance. Visit OFC at www.optimalfitnesscenter.com or call them at 650-654-4604.
