Head Coach Cameron Rast
On tonight's game:
"We had a good run this season. We knew Notre Dame was going to be a tough team to beat. They really took it to us tonight. There were a couple of bad decisions on our end, but our defense was pretty solid. Notre Dame just did a better job of getting control of the ball and that really set the momentum for the game."
On Kevin Klasila's injury in the beginning of the second half:
"It seems that he landed on his ankle or the stepped the wrong way. It's most likely that he twisted it."
On Joe Buttitta's performance:
"Joe couldn't have done anything to stop the two goals. He came in and did the right things for us. I put as much trust in him as any of my other goalkeepers."
Senior Captain Peter Lowry
On Notre Dame's goals:
"We were changing a couple of things and they just jumped on the counter attack and we were put on our heels. It just took our breath away."
On the game:
"We had some really good chances tonight. We played alright and were doing the right things to set us up for the win. But the goals were unfortunate and changed the momentum of the game."
Notre Dame Head Coach Bobby Clark
On tonight's game:
"It was a hard fought game. Santa Clara is a hard place to come in and win at. I have tremendous respect for Santa Clara soccer and I admire Cameron Rast ever since my days in the Bay Area. But playing in the BIG EAST conference really prepared us for tonight's game. We did what we wanted to do in the first half by keeping them in their own half. It really took us 10 or 15 minutes to get going in the second half but once we scored the first goal I believe it left Santa Clara a bit vulnerable in the back."
