Hurtado, Masch Named to WCC Preseason All-Conference Team

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara University forwards Erik Hurtado and Eric Masch were both named to the 2010 West Coast Conference Preseason All-Conference Team. Hurtado is coming off a terrific freshman season in which he led the Broncos in goals – netting three game-winners for SCU in 2009. Masch, a junior from San Jose and graduate of Bellarmine College Preparatory, was named among the league's top players and students last fall.

Looking for the program's 19th NCAA College Cup tournament appearance, Santa Clara opens the season with a pair of neutral site games in Irvine, beginning with the University of Wisconsin September 4. Santa Clara's first four games will be played away from home before the team hosts Bay Area rival California on Thursday, September 16.

The preseason all-conference team was released in conjunction with the league's preseason poll. Santa Clara was picked to finish fifth in the WCC.
