SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Freshman netminder Steve Cronin scored his first collegiate goal with only :28 left during Santa Clara's thrilling 2-1 win over No. 8 San Diego last Friday. The goal not only gave the Broncos a 1-0 record in the West Coast Conference, but it earned Cronin a spot on this week's Soccer America Team of the Week.

Each week Soccer America will select 11 players from across the nation that have standout games to be on its Team of the Week. Cronin joined Tim Pierce as the only two players from the West Coast to be selected to this week's team. The honor is the first of its kind for Cronin in his young career.

Cronin and his teammates continue to be hard at work this week as they prepare for another WCC test against San Francisco on Friday. The Broncos and Dons will begin their game at 7 p.m. at Negoesco Stadium on the Campus of USF this Friday. The Broncos continue to stress the importance of each WCC contest, as the conference winner earns an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Following Friday night's contest, Santa Clara will square off with Stanford on Sunday at 6 p.m. in Buck Shaw Stadium.
