Men's and Women's Golf Competing in Hawaii

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara men's and women's golf teams have traveled to Oahu, Hawaii to participate in the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational. The tournament will run Monday through Wednesday, November 2-4. Both teams will play 18 holes each day. Men's Team Santa Clara is in the midst of an outstanding fall season. The Broncos have placed in the top-10 in all four of its events and look to continue that string of success in Oahu. SCU finished in a tie for fifth at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate October, 26-27 with junior Scott Travers placing in the top-10 individually. Travers, who has placed in the top-10 of all four tournaments this season, is also ranked 70th in the nation by Golf Week. Sophomore Cory Mehl has placed in the top-20 in the Broncos' past two events and takes that momentum to the islands. Women's Team
The Broncos placed fourth at the Firestone Grill Invitational in their lone tournament appearance this season back on October 5-6. Senior Erin Sullivan led the Broncos with a top-10 finish and sophomore Tammy Surtees and junior Miki Ueoka finished in the top-20. This tournament is a homecoming for three of the five Bronco women playing in the event. Ueoka, Surtees, and senior Jamie Nonaka are all from the Hawaiian Islands. |
