Nov. 14, 2000 MOORPARK, Calif. - Junior Sandy Horacek's tie for individual medalist honors led the Santa Clara men's golf team to a second-place finish at the LMU/Farmer John Classic this evening at the Tierra Rejada Country Club, a par-72 layout measuring 7,015 yards. Horacek and CS Northridge's Lance Dombroski were declared co-champions since sudden-death playoff holes could not be played due to darkness. Both players finished with seven-over-par scores of 223. Loyola Marymount won the tournament with a 921, 57 strokes over par and 10 strokes in front of the Broncos. CS Northridge placed third, followed by LMU's JV team and Cal Poly. All five SCU golfers placed in the top 25 with seniors Tony Okano and Drew Corwin placing in the top 10. The Broncos concluded their fall season with the Classic and return to play in the spring, traveling to Lompoc for the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, hosted by UC Santa Barbara at the La Purisima Golf Club.
