BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Santa Clara University's men's golf team concluded its second tournament of the fall season with a ninth place showing at the Elco, Inc. Invitational hosted by Cal State Bakersfield at the Stockdale Country Club in Bakersfield, Calif.

The Broncos shot 300 as a team despite unseasonably bad weather in Bakersfield on Tuesday. Santa Clara finished in a tie with Chico State with a three-round total of 905. The host, Cal State Bakersfield, won the tournament with a three-round total of 11-over, 863.

Freshman Matt Klenz led the way for Santa Clara, finishing in a tie for eighth place with a three-round total of four-over par, 217. Senior Sandy Horacek finished in a tie for 30th after shooting three-straight rounds of 75.

John Edwards finished with a 233 total, while Chris DeMartini and John Colyar rounded out the Broncos scoring with three-round totals of 236 and 241, respectively.

The Broncos will return to action next weekend as they host the Santa Clara Invitational on November 5 and 6.
