RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. - Santa Clara University sophomore Rick Lamb carded four birdies in Round Two of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Golf San Diego Regional at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe.
Lamb finished the day with a two-under par 70. He will enter final-round play on Saturday one-over par for the event, needing to move up the leaderboard to advance on to next week's NCAA Championship in Stillwater, Okla.
Lamb, an All-West Coast Conference honoree and Santa Clara's 2011 scoring leader, recieved an at-large bid into the event, which is featuring 12 of the region's top teams and 10 individuals.
The top five teams from the three-day event will qualify for the NCAA Championships, and just one player (who is not a member of those teams) will get the opportunity move on as well. Lamb is vying for that coveted individual spot, which is difficult, considering he will have to be the top player out of the remaining 50 who do not move on with their respective teams.
