Jan. 12, 2004
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara University men's golf head coach John Kennaday invites you to play a round of golf with a Bronco player at the 2004 Bronco Cup Challenge. The fundraising tournament will be held on Monday, March 1st, at The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge in San Jose, Calif.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. with registration followed by the team and Bronco player draws at 11:45. The play begins at Noon with a shotgun start and will end with hors'dourves and drinks at 5:30 p.m. followed by the awards ceremony at 6:00. The entry fee for the tournament is $600 per player, a portion of which is tax deductible.
This is your opportunity to play one of the finest courses in Northern California with one of the up and coming golf programs in the country. Scheduled to appear from Bronco golf are captain Justin Ahasic and all-WCC performers Matt Klenz and Michael Nicoletti, along with John Colyar, Chris DeMartini, Jonathan Edwards, Eric Lillibridge, Blake Lugar, Jong Yoon and head coach John Kennaday.
"The great thing about this event is that you get to team up with a Bronco and get to compete with the athletes themselves on a terrific course," said Kennaday. "Boulder Ridge is a very exclusive club and therefore a hidden jewel of the South Bay. It is one of our favorite places to play not only because of the challenge and quality of the course, but because they have taken us in and treated us like family. They have an interest in the success of our program and are excited to be able to host this event."
The 6,923-yard, par 72 course is located at 1000 Old Quarry Road in San Jose, and is a challenge for all levels of golfers. For driving locations and further information on Boulder Ridge, please click here.
