Keeping in Stride with Jake Carrigan
Recently SantaClaraBroncos.com caught up one of the many seniors on the Broncos crew, Jake Carrigan from Glencoe, Illinois. Carrigan joined the Santa Clara team as a freshman but came in with some experience after rowing for three years at New Trier High School in Illinois. In 2008, he helped the Broncos place first at the Dad Vails Frosh 4 event and most recently helped SCU finish as the top West Coast Conference (WCC) boat at the 2010 Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championship.

A Snohomish, Wash. native, Chris Freeburg (CF) helped the Broncos place as the top WCC boat at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships last year. The senior will embark on his fourth year rowing here at Santa Clara and hopes to bring another trophy home to the Mission Campus before he graduates.

SCU Men's Crew Rows New Boat for First Time
This January, five inches of rain have already fallen on Lexington Reservoir, home of Santa Clara Rowing. The rain has added 20 vertical feet, increasing our reservoir's row-able meters from about 1800 meters, to well over the spring race length of 2000 meters.
