Bucknell University Head Coach Pat Flannery
Opening statement:
"This team led the country last year defensively in field goal percentage and I thought we did a good job going at them. I also think we defended well; I thought we had to. We were a little out of sync offensively at times. We rushed it because we wanted it really badly. We battled hard for 40 minutes and that's why we came out with the win. It looked like a game coming off of the break in the sense that we didn't make the extra pass and the little things like that, but I'll tell you what, after halftime, we ended up going 17-11 assist-to-turnovers and that was a really good sign that we were distributing the ball in the second half."
On the play of guard Abe Badmus:
"I think Abe did a great job in the second half. We talked about being more aggressive and dribble driving. He can knock them down and even when he doesn't, you can't just all of a sudden negate his speed so you have to put a few up or he'll knock them down."
On Boston's defense:
"Boston threw a defense we've never seen them play. They played a box and one and you don't see that a whole lot in college anymore. That might have been the respect they had for us. So it took our kids a little while to get used to it."
Boston University Head Coach Dennis Wolff
Opening statement:
"We played well defensively. It was a tie game, but we had a couple of breakdowns defensively at critical times that hurt us. In a game like this against a team like Bucknell, we have to make sure that we understand the value of every possession. Unfortunately, we just broke down a couple of times."
