SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University men's basketball team dropped an 86-64 decision to Korabel, a professional club team from Ukraine, in its final exhibition contest of the 2001-2002 preseason Monday night at the Leavey Center.
Korabel shot 61.7 percent from the field for the game, including a 13-of-27 effort from behind the three-point line. Guard Oleksandr Rayevskyy led the Ukrainian team in scoring with 35 points on 12-of-16 shooting from the field, including a 5-for-8 effort from the three-point arc. Dick Davey substituted liberally for the second-straight exhibition game with 11 of the 13 Broncos seeing double-figures in minutes played. Senior center David Emslie missed his second-straight game due to a back injury.
