Head coach Kerry Keating on defense: "It's hard to lose a game when you only give up 35 points. It's all about playing defense, we're very adamant about that. There have been times when we've been good defensively and times when we've been bad up to this point in the season. We've made it the focus of our practice to put in a good defensive effort and I think it paid off for us tonight.
Keating, on turnovers: "We're really putting an emphasis on not turning the ball over and that also paid dividends tonight. Highlighted by the fact that Brody had no turnovers, because as much as he has the ball in his hands and playing 36 minutes, he didn't turn the ball over at all. That's going to help us win a lot of games."
Keating, on rebounding and defense: "We're not an offensive juggernaut in any sense of the name, but we understand that defensive rebounding helps us win games. Certainly that was the case tonight, holding them to 35 points and out-rebounding them by 19. That's something we have to keep concentrating on, something our program is all about, the next game, the next year, the next ten years. It's how you win championships. We're trying to prepare ourselves for that. The quicker we can do it, the more chance we have at a championship."
Keating, on week of practice: "Losing is a humbling thing. Losing also is a great attention getter because we put a heavy emphasis on winning here. So we're falling short of our goal, to the point where we need to get back to achieving our goal, which is to win. I am proud of the way our guys came back from last week's loss. They really responded coming out of that bad loss last Saturday with the best the best practice of the season. Overall it was a good week of practice, one of our better weeks."
John Byant, on last week's practices: "Definitely, it was our best week of practice. We had a goal to cut down on our turnovers and we did a good job in practice of doing that and it carried over to the game tonight. It fells good bouncing back from our game last Saturday."
Bryant, bouncing back from 31-point loss to Saint Mary's: "It's just all mental. You've got pick yourself up and go out there and just know you're a good team. We worked hard all week and got it done tonight."
Bryant, on the team's comeback: "We had a slow start, but the coaches called time out and settled us down. We just needed to get back into the rhythm of the game and execute. The game plan was to go inside and look outside if there are open teammates waiting for the kicks. We know it is a 40-minute game."
Brody Angley, on last week's practices: "We really concentrated this week on bouncing back, not turning the ball over and playing with a lot of energy and a lot of hustle. Just playing hard. Because if you hustle and do the right things you'll be rewarded."
Angley, on holding the lead: "In the heat of the game we were just trying to keep that lead and slowly keep building on it and building on it. And I think we did a good job with that. We slowed the tempo down a little bit, really executed defensively and got stops and I think at one point, we held them without a bucket several times in a row."
Angley on rebounds: "We had lost the rebounding battle in the past couple of games, so it was good to go out there and do a good job on the boards. We boxed out well and did not give them many second chances."
