Santa Clara Baseball Receiving Votes In Two Weekly Polls

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara baseball team (9-3) began receiving votes this week in two major weekly polls. The Broncos sit one spot out of the Top 25 and are currently receiving 11 votes in the USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches Poll.

The Broncos posted a 3-2 record this past week. Santa Clara defeated Fresno State, 6-5, to start off the week and then edged then-No. 11 San Diego, 7-6, in the first day of the Aztec Invitational. SCU went on to post a 9-5 victory over tournament host San Diego State. Santa Clara had its two losses to then-20th ranked Oklahoma State in a 9-5 battle, and then-12th ranked Oregon State in a 12-10 four hour and twenty minute decision.

The Broncos return to action on Wednesday, March 12 against the Mustangs of Cal Poly. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Baggett Stadium in San Luis Obispo.
