Oct 12, 2011 - Baseball Meet New Bronco Assistant Baseball Coach Mike Oseguera When new Bronco head baseball coach Dan O'Brien came to Santa Clara from UC San Diego he didn't have to look far for one of his assistant coaches. Mike Oseguera (MO), a 2003 graduate of the University of San Diego, coached under O'Brien at UCSD for the past eight years where the Tritons compiled an overall record of 304-149 (.671) and played in eight consecutive California Collegiate Athletic Association conference tournaments, collecting four wins (2005, 2009-11). Sep 17, 2011 - Baseball A Chat With New Assistant Baseball Coach Eddie Smith Eddie Smith (ES) has a chair from the 2011 College World Series sitting in his office which he got as a coach on the University of Virginia team that made it to Omaha. Jul 6, 2011 - Volleyball SCU Places Record Number on 10th annual WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll With the conclusion of the 2010-11 academic year, the West Coast Conference is proud to announce the 10th annual WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll, which recognizes those student-athletes that possess at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. A record number 122 Bronco student-athletes made the list, besting last year's mark of 118. Santa Clara had 21 on the Gold list, 21 on the Silver list and 80 on the Bronze list. Santa Clara's student-athletes recorded a school-best 3.14 GPA during the Spring 2011 quarter as well. [more]
Jul 1, 2011 - Baseball All Summer Long Part III: C/OF Zach Looney After a solid rookie campaign, C/OF Zach Looney has taken his talents to East Texas for the summer. The young catcher is honing his skills in preparation for his sophomore season on the Mission Campus. During his freshman season, Looney was one of only two freshman to start 40-plus games for the Broncos. Jun 30, 2011 - Baseball Santa Clara Names Two-Time National Division II Head Coach Dan O'Brien As Head Baseball Coach A two-time Division II National Coach of the Year, Santa Clara University announced Thurs., June 30 it has hired Dan O'Brien as the new Bronco head baseball coach. O'Brien has spent the last 14 seasons as the head coach at UC San Diego, building that program into one of the premier programs at the NCAA Division II level. Dan O'Brien, the 36th head coach in school history in a baseball program that dates back to 1883, replaces Mark O'Brien after he stepped down in early June after 10 years at the Bronco helm. [more]

May 9, 2010 - Baseball Bronco Seniors Make Most of Final Home Game, Drop Dons 12-6 Geoff Klein and Tommy Medica celebrated Senior Day by hitting homeruns to help Santa Clara University beat rival University of San Francisco 12-6 Sunday afternoon at Stephen Schott Stadium. Klein's opposite-field drive scored Medica in the sixth. Medica then added a three-run shot to seal the win during a five-run eighth.
