HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Northwood High School in Irvine, Calif. … as a senior, led his team to the second round of the playoffs and was team MVP … batted .426 with a .527 on-base percentage while setting school records in doubles, triples and runs in a season … also was named All-City and selected to play in the Orange Country North-South All-Star game … in his junior season the team reached the quarterfinals of the playoffs while he was named team MVP, first team All-League and All-City and Elite Baseball All-Tournament team … hit .426 with 32 runs, 23 runs batted in, a .711 slugging percentage and four home runs that year … coached by Rob Stuart … played varsity football as well.
