Hall, Terry Talk Summer Ball
Redshirt Junior Cory Hall, a right handed pitcher from Regina, Canada and junior Pat Terry, a catcher from Sammamish, Wash. are spending their summers in Wisconsin, playing for the Woodchucks in the Northwoods Summer League. They took some time out in between games to fill us in on their team, their host family and their takes on the state of Wisconsin.

The Santa Clara University baseball family and the campus community was saddened to learn of the loss of Jeff Healy, AKA John Frederick Healy, who died unexpectedly in his sleep on Saturday, July 24, 2010.

Nine Broncos Named Among WCC’s Top Spring Student-Athletes
All-America scholar, baseball’s Curtis Wagner, earned his second consecutive WCC All-Academic team honor. Wagner made the list as a sophomore last season and was a unanimous choice as a junior in 2010.

Rivers Taken By Royals, Fourth Bronco Drafted by MLB
Santa Clara University baseball senior pitcher Alex Rivers was selected by the Kansas City Royals Wednesday on Day Three of the 2010 MLB First Year Player Draft. Rivers was recently named Santa Clara's `Pitcher of the Year' after throwing four complete games and two shutouts in 2010.

Three SCU Broncos Claimed in MLB Draft Tuesday
Santa Clara University baseball standouts Tommy Medica, Geoff Klein and Nate Garcia were selected in the 2010 MLB First Year Player Draft this afternoon. Medica - a Collegiate Baseball All-American in 2010 - was the top Bronco selected, taken by the San Diego Padres in the 14th Round.

Santa Clara Bronco Tommy Medica Named All-American
Santa Clara University junior outfielder Tommy Medica was named a 2010 `Louisville Slugger' NCAA Division I All-American by Collegiate Baseball. Medica finished the year batting .386 with 13 homeruns and 21 doubles, firmly establishing himself as one of the most accomplished players in Santa Clara history.

Projected MLB Draft picks Tommy Medica and Geoff Klein were among five Santa Clara University baseball players to earn All-West Coast Conference honors, as announced Thursday by the league office. A .370 career hitter, Medica needed just three seasons to rank sixth all-time at SCU in hits (329)

Santa Clara scored early and often en route to defeating the Lions by a count of 22-13. In a game in which both teams seemingly did not want the 2010 season to end, Santa Clara (23-31, 8-13) defeated LMU (23-33, 5-16) by a count of 22-13 on Senior Day at LMU's Page Stadium.

Nate Garcia threw a complete game six-hitter and Geoff Klein homered in Santa Clara's 10-3 win over Loyola Marymount Friday. Garcia - making his final start in a terrific four-year SCU career - fanned 10 and walked just one. Garcia (4-9) is vying to lead in the West Coast Conference in strikeouts for the second straight year.

Pat Stover hit a three-run homer in the second inning to put Santa Clara University in front early at No. 9 Cal State Fullerton, but the Titans came roaring back to score seven in the bottom of the inning en route to winning an 18-11 slugfest at Goodwin Field Sunday.

Santa Clara University junior first baseman Curtis Wagner - the West Coast Conference batting leader (.404 BA) - was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII baseball team. Wagner has earned a 3.8 cumulative GPA studying in the Leavey School of Business, majoring in Economics.

Bronco Seniors Make Most of Final Home Game, Drop Dons 12-6
Geoff Klein and Tommy Medica celebrated Senior Day by hitting homeruns to help Santa Clara University beat rival University of San Francisco 12-6 Sunday afternoon at Stephen Schott Stadium. Klein's opposite-field drive scored Medica in the sixth. Medica then added a three-run shot to seal the win during a five-run eighth. The two former WCC batting champs were playing their final home game at SCU.

Four years after being cut from Santa Clara's baseball team, senior catcher Pat Terry hit his first career home run in the team's opening series against Nevada.
