SUMMER 2007 - USA NATIONAL TEAM: Played for the USA National Team the summer after freshman season, joining the top freshman and sophomore collegiate baseball players in the country in competing in the Pan-American Games in Brazil and the World Port Tournament in the Netherlands ... also played in the 36th Annual USA vs. Japan Collegiate Championship Series in Durham, NC, where Medica enjoyed a great deal of success against international pitching, launching his first home run of the summer over the famed Durham Bull ... helped Team USA go 11-5 in its pre-Pan-American Games schedule, which included series' against Chinese Taipei and Japan ... at the Pan-American Games, Medica and the Americans reached the Gold Medal Game before losing to Cuba, Medica went 1-for-3 with a run scored in the semifinal win over Brazil.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2007: Turned in a spectacular rookie campaign in 2007, capturing the West Coast Conference batting title with a .373 average en route to being named to both the All-WCC First Team and All-Freshman Team ... Collegiate Baseball 'Louisville Slugger' Freshman All-American ... Baseball America Freshman All-American ... All-Ping!
