Baseball Tickets Go On Sale for 2002 Season

Dec. 3, 2001

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Season Tickets for the 2002 Santa Clara University baseball season went on sale today at the University's ticket office and online at www.SantaClaraBroncos.com. Santa Clara is providing fans two ticket options for the 2002 season.

The first is the Bronco Baseball Season Ticket, which is priced at $50 for adults and $30 for youth and seniors. The ticket prices average out to only $1.79 per game for adults and $1.07 for youth and seniors, giving fans an extraordinary value for their money.

The second plan is the Family Ticket which gives the holder five (5) general admission tickets to each game at "The Shaw." The Family plan gives the most flexibility for people to take the whole group of people out to the ballgame.

Both Season Ticket options will give the holder general admission to any game at Buck Shaw Stadium throughout the regular season.

A new era of baseball at Santa Clara University will officially begin February 1-3 when the Broncos host Fresno State in a three-game series at Buck Shaw Stadium. First-year head coach Mark O'Brien will lead his squad into 28 home contests this year, including games Bay Area rivals California, San Francisco, San Jose State and Stanford.

O'Brien and his new staff are excited about the 2002 season with many returners from a team that finished in a tie for first-place last year in the West Coast Conference Coast Division with Gonzaga.

"We really do have a solid foundation to build upon here," said O'Brien. "I expect us to be right in the thick of things all season long and know that we are going to put a quality product on the field that our fans will be very proud of."

Two-time All-WCC selection Jack Headley, along with Joey Gomes, and Pat Peavey will lead the 2002 Broncos on the field and seem poised to make another run at NCAA postseason play.
