Take Me Out to the Ballgame

April 4, 2002

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara University baseball team will host the University of San Francisco in a three-game series this weekend at Buck Shaw Stadium. As part of the series, the Broncos will also host three very special promotions during the series.

Friday night's series opener against the Dons will be "Take Me Out to the Ballgame Night" at The Shaw. Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Santa Clara's 1962 College World Series team and enjoy dollar days at Bronco Concessions, where all hot dogs, peanuts and small sodas are just $1.

Saturday's middle game of the series will be "National Student-Athlete Day" which has been celebrated annually on April 6 since 1987. National Student-Athlete Day is America's day to celebrate outstanding student-athletes who have achieved excellence in academics and athletics while having made significant contributions to the community. One Bronco sports team will be announced each inning and recognized for both their academic and athletic achievements.

Sunday's series finale will mark the first-ever "Bronco Kidz Day" at Bronco Baseball. All Bronco Kidz will spend a special day at Bronco Baseball and Winter Quarter Kidz All-Starz will be announced. All Bronco Kidz attending Sunday's game will receive a coupon good for a free Jamba Juice (courtesy of Bon Appetit), join the Bronco Baseball team on the field for the national anthem, have the opportunity to announce the Broncos in the bottom of the 5th inning, run the bases at the end of the game and attend a free post-game clinic hosted by the Bronco Baseball team.
