April 12, 2002 SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Mission Harriers will travel to Turlock and Cal State Stanislaus to compete in the Warrior Invitational. After a big day of PR's in the 5000 meters at the Johnny Mathis Invitational, the big guns on both the men and women's teams will step down to the middle distances. Both Robin Bell and Milena Basile will run their first ever 1500. The other women will move up to the 3000 and 5000 for the first time also. Michael Helms returns to defend his 1500m title and the site of his first sub 4 1500 meters. Also, Ricky Brackett will take aim at breaking the four minute barrier after racing to a 4:03 two weeks earlier. Thomas Chapman, Ben Gauen, and Dominick Guidera look to set big PR's in the 1500 while three other Mission Harriers will compete in the 5000. Finally, both Stephen Moore and Michael Wall will take aim at going under two minutes in the 800 meters and doubling back with Helms and Brackett in the 4X400 relay.
