Head coach Tom Service, on event: "It was a great day for cross country. It was kind of like a carnival out there. The Santa Clara Invitational has always been known as a smaller affair, but today is was a really big meet. It was exciting to see all those teams."
Service, on performance of Annie Murphy-Hagan: "She just continues to have a stellar freshman year, and ran really strong today."
Service, on performance of Michael Hannon: "Mike is probably one of the fittest guys on the team. We've always known he was capable of performances like this."
Service, on women's team: "They are going to be right in the thick of things at conference. I think this year will be one of the most competitive for first place. Portland, Loyola, USF and Santa Clara have been running extremely well this year."
Service, on men's team: "They ran a lot better than some of our WCC rivals this time. I think we put ourselves right back in the hunt for 2nd place behind Portland."
Michael Hannon, on his performance: "It was a great race. I hadn't been running too well recently and I knew I had to do well in preparation for conference. After mile two we really started picking up the pace, and the finish ended up being a great confidence builder for me."
Hannon, on the competition: "It was a really deep field. I think we were really excited to race USF because they are our main rival.
