Cross Country Teams Finish First at Mills Invitational on Sunday

OAKLAND, Calif. - Santa Clara University's Mission Harriers both finished first at Sunday's Mills Cross Country Invitational in Oakland, Calif. The men's team team took first out of six teams, while the women's team took the top spot out of the five teams competing.
The men competed against six teams on Sunday, including West Coast Conference opponent Saint Mary's. The Broncos took six of the top seven spots, including the top spot that was claimed by Devlin Croal who finished in a time of 29:32. Chris Spicer and Stephen Moore tied for third in a time of 30:34. As a team, the Broncos finished with a perfect score of 19, with the next closest team, UC Santa Cruz, finishing at 64.
On the women's side, the Broncos finished with a scored of 20, 16 points ahead of Saint Mary's. The women took places two through six, led by Milena Basile who finished second in a time of 20:18. Robin Bell finished one second behind Basile for third place, while Katie Hansen took fourth place.
Both the men's and women's teams will have next weekend off in preparation for the WCC Championships on October 27. The WCC Championships will be held at the Crystal Springs Course in Belmont, Calif., site of the Bronco Invitational that was held on October 6.
