The Mission Harriers will travel to UCSB for the Nick Carter Invite on Saturday. It is the last track event of the spring season. So far, all the men have set PR's at 5000 meters or 800 meters. The women have all set PR's in the 3000 meters or 5000 meters.
The men will have one last shot at breaking 15 minutes in the 5000. Thomas Chapman, Ben Gauen, and Michael Helms will go after the mark. Helms will compete in this meet as an unattached runner. Dominic Ricci, Chris Spicer, and Michael Richmond set out to improve their PR's run in Chico. Michael Neumann, Dominick Guidera, and Tobias Lopez will round out the Bronco 5K squad. Stephen Moore and Michael Wall will join first timer Ricky Brackett in the 800 meters. Ricky will double back with Thomas Chapman and Kevin Edwards in the mile.
The women will focus on the 5000 meters, as Chrissie Moreno will run it for the first time this track season. Both her and Katie Hansen should go well under 20 minutes. Robin Bell and Milena Basile will take aim on their 18:20 marks for PR's. All four will double back to end the meet with a 4X400 relay. Lastly, Kasey Shemwell will bounce back from a two meet layoff by competing in the mile.
