Santa Clara Women's Crew Finishes Third at WCC Championships

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. - Gonzaga earned its fifth straight West Coast Conference women's rowing championship Sunday, winning both the Varsity Eight and Second Eight races held at Lake Natoma in Rancho Cordova, California.

The Bulldogs won the Varsity Eight in 7:00.4, two seconds ahead of second place San Diego, and claimed the Second Eight race in 7:12.4, beating USD to the line by eight seconds.

Saint Mary's won the Varsity Four race in 7:52, four seconds better than Loyola Marymount in second. San Diego used its two runner-ups to finish second overall in the event.

LMU and Santa Clara tied for third, while Saint Mary's finished fifth.
